Prose Writing

Nighttime.
Daylight is beautiful with the magnificent sun casting light on all of the creatures and life, but sometimes the dark twilight with the silence of the world singing an eerie melody to itself is beautiful too. When the soft cold glow of the moon is on your face as you gaze into the endless dark of the heavens. When the buzz and murmur of city life is replaced with the quiet sound of the lonely wind whispering through the trees. The quiet reverence of night is full of mystery, magic and melodies of the stars. So beautiful, yet so dark. So quiet yet so eerie. Nighttime.

The Path of Life
The path of life is never straight, nor smoothly paved. It meanders and twists, with unexpected curves. There are boulders in the way that have to be moved, and rocks and pebbles that make you stumble. Forks upon forks in the road force you to choose, some leading to dead ends and some to fame. There is not a single outlined route, like there would be on Google Maps. You have to find your own way, decide your own lane to travel. Of course, there are signs there that guide you, keep you going, support you and steady you. Warnings of a dead end ahead in your chosen path and speed limits that remind you to not rush ahead of yourself. It's up to you, however, to choose to follow those squares of metal with writing on them. Choose wisely, and you'll end up at your destination with a few wrong turns. Those wrong turns are part of your walk through life, and they help you keep from taking other wrong turns. Once at the place you want to be, you'll realize that the journey is just as important as it's end. May your travels be ever rich and full of exciting experiences.

A Storm is Coming
This morning the sun was shining with all its brilliant might, the birds were singing in full choruses and the air carried the sweet smell of fresh flora. I thought finally, spring had sprung! Now in the afternoon however, the sky is angry and cloudy, the birds are safely tucked in their nests and the wind is making the withered bone branches of the balded trees sway and bend. A storm is coming.
